Rust converter that simultaneously removes already formed rust and transforms it into a stable protective coating, thus effectively stopping the development of corrosion. The converter is water-based with tannic acid and, unlike many other preparations, does not simply cover the rust, but penetrates deeply and dissolves it. The loose rust is separated as a powder, and the remaining corrosion is converted into a stable iron-tannin complex that does not dissolve in water. The resulting protective layer has excellent adhesion to the surface and does not crack or peel even after many years. The surface prepared in this way is ideal for subsequent coatings/layers, such as primers, paints, waxes and others, up to six months after application. RUST CLEANER reacts with iron oxides, remaining harmless to rubber, chrome, plastic, glass and undamaged varnish coatings. It is activated only upon contact with metal or rust and can be easily removed with water from all other surfaces. It is also suitable for preventive protection of new or rust-free elements, for example after sandblasting.
The converter is extremely economical in use and allows reliable treatment even of hard-to-reach areas. It is characterized by easy application and quick subsequent treatment with putty and primer. After application, it prevents the formation of rust on metal surfaces, providing long-lasting anti-corrosion protection. The treated surfaces achieve at least a preparation degree of SA 2.5 or higher, which guarantees high quality of the final result.
Before application, it is necessary to remove loose rust and the surface to be completely cleaned of grease, oil and dirt, using appropriate detergents or degreasers if necessary. Shake the product well and apply it with a brush, roller or by spraying, then leave to act for about 24 hours at an approximate temperature of +20°C. At lower temperatures below +12°C, the reaction time increases to a minimum of 48 hours. The product should not be used in the presence of frost or freezing. If the surface is exposed to direct sunlight, a light moistening is necessary after 1–2 hours to prevent it from drying too quickly and to allow the chemical reaction to proceed properly. Before subsequent treatment, rinse the treated area with water, wipe and leave to dry thoroughly. Tools are cleaned with water immediately after use.
