Waterproof water-based acrylic paint - Aussenfarbe

product_code:BSW 30

Description:

Waterproof, water-based acrylic paint for exteriors. Protects wood from weathering (UV rays, rain). The exterior paint is weatherproof and retains its qualities even in variable weather conditions. It is elastic, which allows it to absorb small movements of the base without cracking. The coating regulates moisture, while being water-repellent and protecting the surface from water penetration. Forms a dense semi-matte layer with a good aesthetic appearance and even coverage. It spreads easily during application, which makes work easier and provides a smooth finish. Suitable for painting large surfaces of soft and hard wood in exterior conditions (e.g. tables, countertops, exterior doors, windows, fences, eaves, facade elements with wooden structures, etc.).

PROPERTIES
The exterior paint is weatherproof and retains its qualities even in variable climatic conditions. It is elastic, which allows it to absorb small movements of the base without cracking. The coating regulates moisture, while being water-repellent and protecting the surface from water penetration. It forms a dense semi-matte layer with a good aesthetic appearance and uniform coverage. It spreads easily during application, which makes work easier and provides a smooth finish.

AREA OF APPLICATION
Suitable for painting large surfaces of soft and hard wood in exterior conditions (e.g. tables, countertops, exterior doors, windows, fences, eaves, facade elements with wooden structure, etc.).

DRYING
At +23°C, 50% relative humidity (DIN 50014) and softwood such as pine or spruce:
Dry to dust at +20°C after: 1-2 hours
Touch dry at +20°C after: 2-3 hours
Fully dry at +20°C after: 12 hours
Drying time can be significantly longer in adverse weather conditions (high humidity, low temperatures, poor ventilation). Drying also depends on the type of wood.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Clean the wooden surfaces from dust and dirt. Completely remove any old, crumbling paint coats. Remove dust and dirt from old, but sound and well-adhering coats and sand them if necessary. Heavily damaged wood should be sanded, removing raised wood fibres, until a smooth surface is achieved. New (untreated) wooden surfaces should also be sanded to improve the absorbency of the material (grit P80/P120). Wear a dust mask when sanding!

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Stir the paint well before use. Apply undiluted with a brush, roller or spray, quickly and in the direction of the wood fibres. Drying time is 3-4 hours before applying the second coat under normal climatic conditions (+23°C). Check the colour shade before applying to large surfaces. A test application is recommended to avoid colour differences. Products from the same batch should be used on one element. When applying to new or untreated exterior wood, it is recommended to use a water-based impregnating primer (e.g. Koralan Imprägnier Grund). The drying time before applying the intermediate or final finish coat is about 12 hours under normal climatic conditions. When using chemical-based primers, the drying time is about 5 days. When choosing white or light colors, Koralan Isolierfarbe Weiß insulating white primer should be applied to prevent discoloration or stains caused by natural substances in the wood (tannins, resins and pigments). The moisture content of the wood should be below 15%.
